I noticed that there isn't any gene, mRNA, or protein information for canine CCL11 in the NCBI databases. Second, all of the papers I have read only investigate Eotaxin-2 and Eotaxin-3 expression in canine samples. The absence of evidence does not necessarily mean that the gene is not expressed in canines but I am beginning to suspect that it is not after attempting some sequence alignments using the human DNA, mRNA, and protein sequences.

Thanks for the input Kamil. Interestingly, when I align the peptide sequence provided by the company it does not align with Eotaxin-1 in canine, but the sequence aligns, partly, with a monocyte chemotactic protein sequence instead. Most likely this occurs due to the fact that a number of chemokines have similar sequence and in part are groups based upon sequence similarity.
