The recent outbreak and lockdown in various countries over the globe due to COVID-19 pandemic i.e. "Corona-virus fear of lungs infection" has altered research community in countless ways. How we collaborate to gain knowledge, proceed experiments, conduct research, socialize with peers, and interact with the community are all affected. Many technical conferences have been postponed, cancelled or become virtual "on-line" events. At this time the conference committees are confused and still planning an in-person conference as we feel the face-to-face format is preferred for discussion of ideas. However, the safety and well-being of the attendees are top priorities. The continuous monitoring and travel recommendations are serious questions in this regard.

I'm in Tunis, Tunisia, and we are subject to lockdown. However we are trying our best to continue teaching via e-learning platforms. We also are more prone on exchanging ideas, research and projects using the internet. In my case, as a computer scientist I became interested in Covid 19 research. Anyone can help the international effort in this battle. I see this as an occasion where the whole world is one, and fighting the same enemy. Meanwhile we spend more time with our families.

Yes, in some scientific disciplines, due to the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 pandemic (causing Covid-19 disease), serious disruptions occurred in the research. Especially in those research works which, due to the specificity of a particular scientific discipline, require research work through a research team in the laboratory or in the field, in contact with other people, in situations of necessary discussions and team-led processes of collecting research material. On the other hand, statistical development of collected research material, quantitative data processing, inference, etc. can already be carried out remotely using communication carried out via instant messengers, etc. However, remote communication is usually also more onerous and slowing down joint analytical processes compared to teamwork carried out in one at a specific laboratory, research institute, university, etc.

In addition, another difficulty in conducting research and the presentation of research results obtained from research is the inability to organize scientific conferences in a traditional, stationary form. Scientific conferences are an important factor in the development of science and exchange of experience from scientific research, the opportunity to present the results of research, conduct discussions and create international research teams. Unfortunately, however, currently (March - May 2020) due to the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 pandemic (causing Covid-19 disease) in many countries the possibilities of organizing scientific conferences and trips to international scientific conferences have been significantly reduced or a total temporary ban on organizing them has been introduced. In this situation, ICT and Internet information technologies can be particularly helpful now, thanks to which they can carry out videoconferences in a specific, but usually limited scope, i.e. remote conferences via the Internet through the use of specific, available applications and websites. In view of the above, the SARS-CoV-2 Coronavirus pandemic caused, for reasons of anti-pandemic safety, in many countries the processes of organizing and conducting scientific conferences in stationary form were temporarily suspended. This is significantly correlated with the temporary suspension of conducting stationary didactic classes at universities. However, due to the great importance of conferences for the development of science, some research centers and universities continue to organize and conduct conferences in the form of a substitute, remote via the Internet, in the form of video conferences. The remote form, i.e. videoconferencing, does not fully replace traditional conferences organized traditionally, but as a substitute, they can be helpful and significantly help, e.g. in promoting research results and conducting discussions. So this is a significant impediment to science development due to the Coronavirus pandemic. When the pandemic ends, conferences will probably be held in stationary, traditional and remote form via the Internet, in the form of video conferencing. Perhaps the share of conferences organized dually at the same time in a stationary, traditional form and through online media, opinions with the possibility of participation and debates and discussions also via the Internet will increase. If this happens, it will be another confirmation of the thesis suggesting an increase in the digitization of the economy, including social, economic and other processes caused by the Coronavirus pandemic.
