I exported my design to dxf file but in the dxf file it only shows the drawing and no dimensions. How can I add dimensions in the drawing in the dxf file while exporting in cst?
If you are exporting your design in the dxf format, CST automatically assigns the global units you were using in the project window as the default setting. In case you need to change them please do so in CST first for it to be exported.
An easy way would be to export your design with a certain unit and importing the same in another CST window to check whether your settings have been properly chosen or not
So, when I export my design to .dxf. I can only see the drawing. No dimensions are written anywhere. I think when I give it someone to fabricate. they need the proper dimensions
A dxf file is typically used as direct input for a circuit board mask producing program or machine. It is not intended that it should be used for dimensioned drawings. If you want simple dimensioned drawings use the dimensioning tool in CST and copy the screen to get the drawings you want.
Could I please ask for little more help? I am trying to export circular monopole to dxf but everytime it says, no layers could be determined for dxf export.
What should I do?
The local coordinate system u v plane has to cut through the thing you want to export. What that u v plane intersects is what will go into the dxf or gerber file.
