Does anyone have this issue? When I apply the lid, it’s akin to performing CPR on a sliver back gorilla, to only see my power pack say "no load detected". We have gone through one tank and I purchased another. This one is having the same issue. The plugs do need an extension to reach the electrodes to complete the circuit in the power pack, so I haven’t tested that yet as an issue. But experience tells me it isn’t likely that, but rather the connection between the lid and the tank connections. There is a lot of rubber on the electrode connections ports that may cause a reduced approximation with the metal components? Thanks.
I‘ve had this happen once with my mini get tank when I had not properly filled the inner chamber.

Im used to not having to fill the reservoir completely, i.e. as long as the lower aperture is immersed (as per the previous system with the Invitrogen gel cassettes). Perhaps its a requisite for this system I was unaware of. That said, when I used an alternative lid, it did work. Just took a lot of pushing. Ill test this point you made using salt water and see what happens. If you're correct, this would align with the company making us to expend more money on buffer... which, unfortunately, is entirely "logical".

I fill the inner chamber with Tris-Glycine running buffer until it over flows into the outer chamber :)
I haven’t used the older model but I doing several gels a day at the moment using this method.
