As I’m a PhD starter, I am hoping to do a literature review and get it published. Just wondering if you have any explanations regarding the difference among integrative, systematic and narrative literature reviews? Appreciate it!
Revisão narrativa – sem critérios explícitos e sistemáticos, sem que se esgotem as fontes de informações. Ademais, a seleção dos estudos e a interpretação das informações podem estar sujeitas à subjetividade dos autores. É adequada para a fundamentação teórica de artigos, dissertações, teses, trabalhos de conclusão de cursos.
Revisão sistemática – é considerada como estudos observacionais retrospectivos ou estudos experimentais de recuperação e análise crítica da literatura. Tem como objetivo levantar, reunir, avaliar criticamente a metodologia da pesquisa e sintetizar os resultados de diversos estudos primários. Reúne e sistematiza os dados dos estudos primários (unidades de análise).
Revisão integrativa – propõe a revisão rigorosa e a combinação de estudos com diversas metodologias, como, por exemplo, o delineamento experimental e não experimental, da integração de resultados. O método de revisão integrativa permite a combinação de dados da literatura empírica e teórica que podem ser direcionados à definição de conceitos, identificação de lacunas nas áreas de estudos, revisão de teorias e análise metodológica dos estudos sobre um determinado tópico.

The review's processes are transparent, repeatable, and defined; they are described as "systematic." Systematic" describes the review's methods; they are transparent, reproducible, and defined. Obviously, Literature reviews don't usually apply the same rigour in their methods. They don't aim to produce an answer to a clinical question. Instead, they can provide context or background information for a new piece of research. In other words, The review's procedures were visible, repeatable, and defined; this qualifies them as "systematic." Usually, the methodologies used in literature reviews are not as rigorous. They are not intended to provide a response to a medical query. Instead, they could offer background knowledge or context for a fresh piece of investigation.
Integrative reviews summarize past empirical or theoretical literature to provide a more comprehensive understanding of a particular phenomenon. Systematic reviews are a review of all the known information from every identifiable source on a particular topic. Narrative reviews are a summary of the literature on a particular topic, but they are not experimental in nature. While integrative and systematic reviews are research methods, narrative reviews are not. Systematic reviews may include a meta-analysis, while integrative reviews may buildscience, informing research, practice, and policy initiatives.
