Dyes like MB and CV exhibit Raman enhanced performance under 633 nm excitation light, while RhB and 4-MBA are more suitable for Raman detection under 532 nm excitation light. Is this is because of fluorescence or if some other factor plays a role?
I don't know the absorption for 4-MBA, but RhB has definitely the shorter main absorption wavelength in comparison with MB and CV, so the one that's closer to the absorption wavelength has the stronger enhancement.
