I have a 2 (gender) x 2 (treatment) data with work performance as the DV. The study is between-subjects, so each response is in one of the four cells. Because men have higher performance than women in both the treatment and control groups, I want to test whether the gender difference in the treatment group is larger than the difference in the control group.
Can anyone help explain how to run this test in SPSS? Thanks!

Ajit is correct; the framework is a 2 x 2 factorial anova. The test of interest is whether there is a gender x treatment interaction. Presence of interaction implies that differences in one factor (e.g., M vs. F for gender) are inconsistent across levels of the other factor (e.g., treatment, control conditions).
If so, do either descriptive statistics, like Cohen's d, or simple effects comparisons show larger (according to your criterion) M vs. F differences for treated cases than for untreated cases?
