Can anyone please tell me in detailed explanation what is the difference between the joint and the connection in steel joint?

joint rotation = total rotation of the beam-end - beam elastic deformation - column elastic deforamtion - block rotation
connection rotation = joint roation - column web in plane rotation + column elastic deformation + block rotation

Kristaq Hazizi thank you for your detailed response it had really helped me, however i still have one more quesion that it confuses me. if the joint rotation does not contain the column in plane or out of plane in its equation so why in the equation of connection rotation we have to substract the column web in plane rotation from the joint rotation??
