Advent to ever growing water scarcity worldwide, the technology suggested by Sarwan Kumar is indispensable to live with saline water for irrigation. However, I suggest saline water to be mixed with fresh cow dung at 1 kg for 100 litres of water, to reduce the salt content of saline waters by a process of adsorption. It is done by mixing dung and water and keeping the mixture overnight before its use for irrigation. The sediment left over, is periodically removed to prevent blockage. Even the salinity level can be measured before and after addition of fresh dung to the saline water. 

Under limited availability of water or underground water is poor quality, pitcher irrigation is promising technology. There is a need to up-scaling and out-schaling this technology.

As an effective remedial measure to conserve, protect and improve water including saline water, I suggest 'Invisible Micro Pond Technology". For this, a pit of 25 feet length, 5 feet width and 5 feet depth is dug at a low lying area of farm land to facilitate rainwater to flow to the spot. The pit is filled from the bottom with one foot thickness each of clay, gravel, sand layers followed by 2 feet of soil. The area occupied by the pit can be used to grow any crop of one's choice. This invisible micro pond collects rain water or saline water whatever and allows water to percolate down up to clay layer and does not allow to further down except in lateral direction. The water thus collected would move towards the dry zone with in the soil profile in all directions till the moisture content becomes uniform. This type of pit is dug at the rate of one each for acre of land, all over the fileld identifying the low lying area. The saline water that flows down would get filtered down due to which salt content is reduced. This technique would serve to create a reserve bank of water for crops particularly of rainfed crops which would not fail due to assured water supply through capillary movement of stored water.  

Thanks @ Kunuthur Srinivasa Reddy Garoo, for this unique idea. Here we tried to irrigate vegetable/horticultural plants in the root zone directly, that too continuous moisture supply, being always moist no salt stress is buildup for yield threatening.

Yes, it will be act good method however, there are other some methods that can also having remidial measures for sais problem.
