We are in the era of e-books where:
- The papers stay with their original color without changing to yellow after years.
- Texts can be copied as needed without using copying machines.
- They will be electronically searchable. So the research process becomes easier and better.
- They can be manipulated by the readers, such as highlighting some words and paragraphs.
Some newspapers are ceasing to publish in printed form and will go online only.
In the age of the internet, many think libraries are being destroyed. One need not yield to pessimism: identifiable trends point to a promising future. The project at https://www.researchgate.net/project/Libraries-of-the-Future compiles nine references to shed light on how libraries can enjoy a renaissance.

Perhaps temporarily, but I don't think we will see any drastic changes in the way people read when this crisis easies. Online materials are convenient at times, but books are always where we left them as well as the physical and emotional connection one might have with printed books, especially children.
The moment chosen for this discussion is well chosen. Although I have long been of the opinion that nothing can replace the written word on paper, the present time in which we live has denied me. The digital library will not replace the classic library - it will complement it. There will always have to be physical librarians who will edit the classic or digital library.

", is as we are saying that e-commerce could not replace the traditional one; they are actually complementary to each other. Thanks for the very deep thought and support that are reflected in your words.
As a purely online student of a university on the other side of the country, the only library I have access to is what is available online, and older editions of classic works bought second-hand during previous study. The library has many resources, but some only 'on shelves' impossible to access unless I buy them myself (too expensive to do regularly, and impossible to get quickly now if sent from overseas). And some key online loans are only for short periods, so difficult to manage when you have large reading lists you are switching amongst when writing. Up to now I have been able to substitute other online references or get a glimpse of a few pages on Google books, but have recently turned to Scribd (again an additional cost for a student already paying fees that contribute to university library upkeep) to have some other resources available.
Pauline Golder: Yes, this is the paperless era; paper books are too expensive to buy.
On the other side, since the paperless office is finally on its way, any company should prepare enough for the paperless virtuality.
Prof. Daniela Fontenelle-Tereshchuk: In spite of I haven't enough money to feed my children, I am also still old fashioned, I prefer the usual books. But, the paperless era force itself.
I concur with Pauline Golder and Nidhal Kamel Taha El-Omari . I embrace the online libraries and have utilized them immensely during these Covid months but still love to feel that book in my hands.

I disagree. All life we will have books, the reasons is not everybody likes technology or has the possibility of to but PC.
