Did anyone use the SC-ADE medium for selection and if I mutate or delete the ade2 gene, should I get red colonies in the SC-Ade medium plate?

I bought the medium SC-ADE and mutated the ade2 gene. I want to know more information about this gene selection and how long can I see the red colonies and is there anything I should notice? Thank you.
