did you see some problem in ductile iron pipes socket before? please see D4 area. some holes can be seen that filled with brown powders. could anyone suggest any solution for this problem?we add aluminium to our melt and its resolve the problem for a short time but this come back again. our melt is pure and we have a sum about 0.600. C=3.6 mn=0.3 al=0.037 si= 2.2
The photographs are not clear as shown but there seem to be plenty of degenerated graphite and some gross shrinkage. The probable reasons improper inoculation of the melt and inadequate feeding. Ensuring that there is specified amount of aluminum in the inoculant will probably ensure better nodularity. It will not help much if aluminum is separately added to the melt. Aluminum should be a constituent of the inoculant for best results. ;
