Does the introduction of demographic variables to control them in the Hierarchical regression equation disturb the process of regression analysis? In other words, is it wrong to control the demographic variables in the hierarchical regression equation?

That show stepwise should not be used in hierarchical regression which thanks to IBM and SPSS it often is. Hierarchical regression is of value if the selection is done appropriately IMO. Best Wishes
