I have recently checked on certain cell lines having these motile particles. It seemed like "cocci".
How careful should one be while handling animal cell cultures.. Should we be concerned if such cultures affect other flasks in incubator conditions?

First and foremost you should discard the contaminated flask without further delay because there is a high likelihood that the contaminated flask may contaminate other flasks in the incubator.
If you have a spare incubator transfer the remaining flasks to that incubator and get the trays of first incubator autoclaved. Change the water in the tray kept at the base inside the incubator with fresh sterile water.
If you do not have an extra incubator you can wipe the trays and the inside of the incubator with 70% alcohol.
To avoid any further contamination always make use of 70% alcohol for your hands before handling the culture flasks. Always wear the tissue culture apron while working in the cell culture laboratory. Avoid crowding the laboratory. Maximum of one to two individuals are allowed in the cell culture laboratory at a time.
Keep the UV on for 10-15 mins before you begin your work in the biosafety cabinet. Wear face mask while working in the biosafety cabinet. Last but not the least, fumigate the laboratory once a month.

There are contaminations as you have seen. When in comes for the other flasks, probably they are contaminated as well. On the other hand, it would be useful yo give as more information about the culture medium you have used to culture presented cells. Have you added some antibiotics in the culture medium and which one. How long did you replace culture medium..... With these information, it is possible to give you more insight in the current problem.
1. Discard contaminated cultures ASAP.
2. Seems too big to be bacteria and not refractile enough to be yeast. I suppose you could try to culture out what it is on bacteria plates.
Probably this contamination is mycoplasm, is very dificcult to eliminate because it is intracellular.
I recomend to eliminate the culture and to start whit other cells vial.
