Dear Mickel, Do u think that field application of metabolic precursor is worthy or not in secondary metabolites biosynthesis?

Biosynthetic origins of plant secondary metabolites

I am so sorry, I have just now seen this question! Well, there are some good examples in which 13CO2 has been applied on field plants with success. It has obvious limitations, especially in regards of the level of control one can have over the experiment but it can be quite useful. So yes, I do think it is worth to try, as long as it allows to answer the research question.
