My friends, my dear colleagues, I am the Scientific Secretary of this Conference. It is held by the Photonics Laboratory and Agri-biophotonics Laboratory of the Perm Federal Research Center of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The co-organizer of the Conference is Povolzhskiy State University of Telecommunications and Informatics (Samara, Russia). The Conference will take place in Perm (Russia) on the 27-29th of May, 2020.
The aim of the conference is to discuss the latest fundamental achievements and applied developments in fiber optics and related fields: distributed fiber optic sensors; methods for sensing them by pulsed, continuous and complex signals; methods for recording and processing of backscatter signals; features of the application of reflectometry systems in the fields of science and technology, their use for high-precision metrology of optical fibers and cables; monitoring of fiber optic communication lines; theoretical aspects and backscattering modeling taking into account nonlinear effects in the optical fiber; quasi-distributed and other kinds of sensors and their application in bio and agri-biophotonics. We are glad to inform you that the Full Articles of the Conference will be published in Instruments and Experimental Techniques Scientific Journal. It is indexed in Web Of Science, Scopus and other bases.
We were the organizers of the two recent All-Russian events on reflectometry, and now it is our first experience of transforming this to the World Conference. This is why I do need some feedback from the Scientific Community, my dear colleagues! Do you have plans to visit Russia? If yes - could you please inform me or contact me. I absolutely do not claim the status of the journal of your conference, just consider this proposal as an opportunity for one of the authors to publish their results.
The cost of publishing in MDPI journals is orders of magnitude higher than in the journal of your conference I respect, but there is a chance to help young scientists stake out their results in fairly well-known and widely distributed open access journals. Therefore, I also attach the second sentence, similar to the first.
