I like to think that the very origins of the west do not lie in people such as Plato or Aristotle, but after all in Euclide's Elements. As it is well known, Euclides synthesised and compiled -a number of years after Plato and Aristotle- nearly all knowledge available until then in his 13 books.
The very origins of the western civilisation consists in thinking about space, geometry and the very method and process introduced by Euclide.
