Flipped classroom is an instructional strategy and a type of blended learning that reverses the traditional learning environment by delivering instructional content, often online, outside of the classroom.
Dear colleagues, What is your opinion about "flipped classroom" as a modern teaching strategy? or if you have experience on this method, tell as about your experiment.

Flipped classroom has lot of merits in it. I would be sharing few merits of practicing this strategy.
1. Flipped classroom will increase the pace of self-learning, life -long learning and continual-learning activities.
2. Decreases cognitive-load fatigue. Because Flipped Classroom learning activity highly supports self-paced learning strategy.
3. Increases number of cues towards learning.
4. Learner will take their responsibility in learning. So that would increase their higher order thinking skills (HOTS), critical thinking, innovative thinking and creative skills.
5. This method accelerated learner-centric activity.

Of Course creating learning materials for 'Flipped Classroom' become challenging. But once if it is created that brings lot of values towards learning.
My personal experience with flipped classroom are mixed. I agree with Ms. Lakshmi Dhandabani regarding the added value. However, when I have dealt with unprepared student groups, my experience was awful since flipped classroom requires students to do their readings before they come to class.
My experience with flipped classrooms comes from three main views; as a student, as a lecturer and also as an Instructional Desginer/Educational Technologist.
The first point of view was very strange at the start but with time, I personally like the flipped classroom idea; it gave us as students a different angle/view on the subject/topic at hand, via it may be via a video, simulation, applet, etc.
The 2nd point of view was easily adapted, because this practice, flipped classroom was already introduced to me as a student. As a lecturer I incorporated numerous eTools and a LMS into the classroom.
The 3rd point of view was even easier; as I had to knowledge and skills to assist my academics at my institution to start off with a flipped classroom idea.

I like the idea of 'flipped classroom' as a modern teaching strategy, since the active participation of students, in my opinion, is encouraged in a higher degree, compared to traditional teaching methods.
