Data analytics is increasingly being integrated into English teaching to enhance both teaching methods and student learning outcomes. English teachers can create a more dynamic and responsive learning environment by leveraging data analytics that better supports student success.
I gave a short answer when I answered before, but qualitative and quantitative data analysis can be valuable in teaching the developing curriculum. In part, it was because you did not explain the intent of your question in much detail. But I have been thinking about it. :-)
1. What skills and knowledge do likely employers of your graduates need? What level of English proficiency? You have to look at data, not just guess.
2. How do you evaluate student progress, both formative and summative? I know that high stakes tests are required by many national governments, but needing to "teach the test" often results in poorer outcomes.
3. How do you evaluate the affordances of your various learning tools and resources?
I am sure that there are many other facets of TESOL that benefit from data analysis, as well.
