I (Japan) and colleagues from the Philippines and Vietnam are conducting a survey on the English language and culture.
We would like to open this to any other interested parties.
We are all teaching EFL students who are English majors.
It is a simple survey that questions how long students have been studying English and how culture effects their foreign language learning.
We would like to expand this to a wider base of countries, not necessarily Asia with instructors who are teaching EFL English majors.

I teach EFL majors at the University of Novi Sad, Serbia. Most of my students are native speakers of Serbian, but some are Hungarian or Slovak.

Again I thank everyone. Some scholars have responded to my gmail account while others have posted here. This should prove to be an interesting inter-global project. My ambitions are to publish in a major journal once all our findings are comprised.
Additionally, I would like to expand our completed results into a book. Please keep this last point in mind. We would each be contributing a chapter plus collaborating on the introduction and final chapter.

I have been teaching ELT methodology to second year English major and minor undergraduates for a long time at Transylvania University of Brașov, Romania. Two of my colleagues and myself are currently rewriting our ELT methodology course materials and the focus at this point is dealing with the teaching of language and culture. Hello, I must apologize for my lack of timely response.

My family has been through a bit of a crisis this summer. July 31st we found out that my Japanese 91 year old father in law has cancer. My Japanese wife and I have been very involved with his treatment and hopeful recovery for the past few weeks. I additionally had to return to the United States and acquire about my mother who also happens to be 91. She is okay but suffers from disorders related to old age.
