Thank you for your answer. This is a very interesting report about concession catering. However, I was thinking of gastronomy, network and independent companies. Because independent companies are not really take CSR, I chose McDonald's for example.

Ok, but McDonald's is not a catering business. Maybe well known independent catering firms are better as a choice, at least to match the context required.

Yes, You are right, McDonald's is not a catering company, but a gastronomy company. In Poland, food service, catering business or gastronomy is often used interchangeably. I was thinking of the gastronomy industry.

Gastronomy is the art and science of good eating, as per oxford dictionary. McDonald's is the world's leading global food service retailer. Most of McDonald's restaurants worldwide are owned and operated by independent local business men and women. Food and culture are interrelated. Accordingly, McDonald had developed cuisine, which satisfies the local taste. CSR & Sustainability are the part of company’s business strategy. Hence, I feel, McDonald could be a case study for CSR in gastronomy market.  

Thank you very much for your answer. I also believe that McDonald's is a good example of a gastronomy/food service  company that is socially responsible. Although it is believed that the company offers unhealthy foods, McDonald's can be a model for other companies in terms of CSR.

I dont know at your area how macdonalds work, but for me its defenitly a big no no, the reason is that they serve average food tasting which contradicts with the word gastronomy, in addition, how can we relate the word CSR to a company that uses hundreds of additives and cancer causing substances, and they know that surely, CSR are human and enviroment driven, and I cant find both it macdonalds. Plus if I wanna talk from the nutrition point of view, providing large food quantities that are saturated with fatty protiens and carbohydrates for very low prices is increasing the obesity levels, and as you know currenlty obesity is concidered a disease, and studies prove that simce fast food chains appeared since years and dominated the food sector they increased the obesity, metaboloc syndrome, and cancer levels increased by huge numbers. A CSR gastronomy from my point of view, should be eco-friendly, providing organic healthy food that can be super tastey at the same time, caring for human health and not detoriorating the nature with these numorous chemicals and not giving a hand for those who does.

I agree with you that regular eating in McDonald's can cause many diseases, starting with overweight and obesity, but CSR is considered in many categories. Example - As a company offering food, quality control is top priority to ensure product safety to enable guests enjoy meals with a sense of safety. To achieve this, they work with all their suppliers in close partnerships, setting strict standards of the sourcing of raw materials and quality control in every step across their value chain from farms to processing plants, distribution channels, and to their restaurants. McDonald's has been making huge changes to its menu over the past years. Therefore the company uses only products and raw materials that must meet the strictest safety and quality criteria and not at least they must be tested and approved by all relevant institutions. Although some genetically modified ingredients are not considered harmful and dangerous, McDonald's company requires from its suppliers to use mainly natural and no genetically modified ingredients, which is important for their customers. In response to health critics, the company promised to phase out antibiotics from its chicken supply. Many fast food chains, McDonald’s also are starting to offer healthy choices on their menus to attract more health conscious consumers. The chain added to menu salads, yogurts, vegetables, fruits, mineral water and juices. The Company is committed to helping customers make informed nutrition choices. From printed brochures and nutrition labeling right on select food packaging, to innovative mobile apps, QR codes and online nutrition calculators, as well as calories on menu boards, multifaceted approaches give McDonald’s customers the information they seek in many markets around the world.

An important factor is the fact that McDonald's is able to provide work for such groups of workers who face many difficulties by finding a job such as young people without work experience, women with children or handicapped persons. McDonald's is provide work for more as 19 000 employees in Poland.

Based on the idea that consideration for the environment is a part of the social responsibility for a company engaged in business, they tackle environmental responsibilities with a viewpoint of continuous optimization. McDonald's Poland is implementing a nationwide program to reduce CO2 emissions in all restaurants.

Personally I do not eat at McDonald's and I think if sometimes someone likes and needs to eat there, nothing will happen, but not usually; but the company is a socially responsible employer at least in Poland. Other restaurants and bars unfortunately rarely respect employees and offer fair salary. McDonald's is involved in charitable activities and supports the needy, especially children.

I agree with you that a CSR gastronomy should be eco-friendly, providing organic healthy food and caring for human health.
