I think the system is faulty. My index just decreased from 11.40 to 11.05. How to explain it? Does anyone have similar experiences? What do you think about RG Score?
I had a problem with citations too, and also showed a different number than now. The problem is also with identification citations. On the google scholar I have citations over 80, although here are citation my work are not all identified with me.
RG index changes all the time and regarding citations number here is a lot lower than on Google Scholar. Although I have uploaded some new papers score went down and I just don't understand how the score is moving up or down
I think that RG score comprises your total activity and others' activities that are related to you. For example, I got an increase i RG score by answering some questions, and by getting a recommendation on article by someone else, although my readings droped by 50%.
I understand everything, but having activity, answering questions and having high readability, it is absurd to drop RG instead of increasing but decreasing. I think the system is faulty. The rationale was that attaching new articles, having new citations and being an active index, but in the last week my activity was high and the index fell. The help desk has no answer and is not helpful. I have the impression that they do not control the system.
for instance you were one of the co-authors of an article with some reads and citation -- the author noticed that he/she has uploaded same article twice and removed one of the uploaded articles -you will loose score of article and read and citation (it is one of the examples)
i had a score of 24.17 last week and i removed a duplicated article but uploaded two new articles but it decreased to 24.13 as the article removed had reads but no citation but the two newly uploaded had no like on monday when the scores are updated.
It is difficult to get good RG score only through publications. In my observation, more RG score is given for answering/asking questions. If people with higher RG score (than you) respond to your contribution, then it will make a rapid rise in your RG score. I think there are many faults in RG score calculation. I already contacted RG officials to know about the actual procedure in score calculation but they refused my request. However, they told, they are on the work to improve the procedure.
Yes, there are faults in RG score. My RG score is continuously decreasing since two weeks in spite of more than 200 reads every week and additional citations, Moreover, few articles reached milestone in reading and citation. But unfortunately RG score is decreasing.
Of course they are on the work to improve the procedure. This just answer but don't to do nothing. First time I wrote to them message before two month and nothing change.
Hope they will understand and update their procedure. It is paradox that reading is more than 200 in a week and increase in citation but RG score is decreasing.
in my opinion, its not enough to measure the abilities of a researcher, as for some are capable of doing great work but some limitations effects them, in return this will reduce their RG
Why build RG if it is not reliable. From my observation I see that after the last week RG instead of rising fell. Last week I added a new article, I had one cited but I have RG index decrease. Fortunately I'm not here for the RG index, but I'm outraged. Last Monday 11.11 today 11.06.
