First trial of Cros hearing aid/ soft band trial
If benefitting, patient counseled about undergoing bone conduction implant either BAHA/Bone Bridge/ Osseo
If not benefitting with trial then counseled to undergo CI
Siva, all of the interventions you mention are potentially appropriate. The ideal or even preferred hearing system depends on many things, cause/duration/onset of sshl, the economics, patient preference and hearing needs, supply. Each is worthy of an essay.
It depends Cros hearing aid helps the users to localize sound better and it is non invasive as BAHA needs operation however the deep stimulation provides better localization of sound. Cochlear Implant recently got FDA for single side deafness and it seems better than other options typically if it is done when the hearing loss is recently occurred.
All of them can be used in SSD.
the choise of each depend on several factors including audiological, anatomical, and of course the finicial cost.
The best is CI as it's TRUE hearing process

CI would not be an ideal choice. for real binaural experience the inputs to both ears need to be synchronized and CI changes the frequency spectrum of input signal. so binaural benefit is still not proved in those cases.
BAHA and CROS would ideal do lot of good in those cases, i think
Coclear implant is the best choice for SSD
BUT multiple factors should be taken in consideration
1. Duration of HL
2. Radiology if the is nerve aplasia
