Cronbach Alpha (CA) is generally used as a measure of internal consistency or reliability of a psychometric instrument. Can Cronbach Alpha be used a tool for results interpretation?
The only way I can conceive of it being used in this way is by qualifying that because it is not a very good measure that your results may not be valid.
Actually it measures reliability, not validity. It measures the internal consistency of your scale. So you could have a scale with a very high alpha indicating very high internal consistency but not be valid. For instance, all of your items might be measuring a particular math skill when you want to measure a language skill. Your scale is reliable but not valid.
