How do we ensure that humanity flourishes in the cities of the future?—————We can’t. Life ends in death. Its built in the essence of every life form that exists. And, is the essence of creativity, that is, creating diversity in all forms of life and ideas & love that come from life……Or…..we can act like exterminators; rid ourselves of the leaders, writers and social researchers who tell us how to flourish, how to live, what to believe, and who to like or dislike. Make the physical, emotional and intellectual enslavement of people and the use of force to control others and conquer others near impossible. Set clear boundaries on social and political “influencers”. Etc, etc….Then pray that you’ve eliminated differences and diversity. Humanity will exist in the future; just don’t ask for it to -also- flourish.——————What abilities would a machine need to have before we had say that it had a human-like conscious mind? - I still like the Turing model
I think the underlying question you asked in three questions is 'how can we preserve our humanity in the digital world'. I think you are hitting a big challenge and danger, which we are feeling. In my opinion, a change of personality, which happens with tailor-made education can give hope. A deep knowledge of self and our need to be with others, growing with each other.
