Regarding the corrosive aspect, there are some mathematical models that, depending on the different weather parameters, give an indication of the content of particles (aerosols) containing particularly aggressive ions such as Cl- ions (... and we are already entering already in a not simple field) in particular areas but with regard to the degree of damage to a material the variables, besides the environment, are so many that I do not know models validated and used "concretely".

Very often, since structures that have a life of several years are generally considered, the problem is addressed with exposures of different materials, protected or not, in particular marine stations, in conditions carefully monitored according to international regulations, considering exposures that can last even 5 years. If you think you need to know more about this topic, you can find some papers related to the GEMS (Genoa Experimental Marine Station) of the CNR-IAS that are present on my RG page.

Hello, a look at the ISOCORRAG program could be very helpful. There, a number of materials were outsourced and evaluated over long periods of time at different locations. The report then used this information to make predictions about future corrosion behaviour.

It is not easy to suggest such global models since they related to a bundle of variables that affects the corrosion process in different ways and at the top of the list is the location. Now look at some of results and conclusions by many authors:

"Mathematical modeling of atmospheric corrosion based on the aggressiveness categories defined by standard ISO 9223 greatly fail to predict the actual corrosion rates of metals in some locations like subtropical environments[1]."

"The results showed that there is not a good correlation between the predictions of the Corrosion Damage Algorithm and the Europe Corrosion Map and the actual measurements on steel and aluminum at the site[2]"

"More complex models should take the nonlinear and interactive corrosion effect and the dynamic environment into consideration. This means new models and methods should be developed. The response surface method and the statistical learning method are possibly promising tools to deal with this situation[3]"

Please go through the following links of recently published work and then the vision will be in more contrast level and helpful to choose the appropriated route to go on with more reliable modeling.
