What methods do you know, which help to study intra- and interspecific variability in morphological and morphometrical characters? Particularly inter- and infraspecific variability in shape of organisms or organs?
Please do not recommend traditional statistical approaches: ANOVA, PCA, etc.

A parallel suggestion (to all students interested in topics about body size): I think it would be worthwhile to consult On growth and form (Cambridge UP, 1917 [1942, 2 ed.]), by D’Arcy Thompson. An abridged edition of this classic book appeared in 1961; the abridgment was made by John Tyler Bonner, author himself of important works on the subject (e.g., Size and cycle [Princeton UP, 1965] and Why size matters [Princeton UP, 2006]).
