For prolonged whole organ perfusion, we are looking into sources for viable mammalian erythrocytes. The exact species (horse, sheep, rat...) is not as important as prize, large volume availability (~ 3 liter/month), cleanliness (sterile and w/o pathogens) and stable quality. So far, we have experience with human blood, but availability is too limited and quality varies. Do you have any recommended sources?
