As per soil demand generally,Phosphorus (P) and Potassium (K). are the two most important nutrients after N for wheat cultivation. Usually, the total P and K fertilizers are added to the crop at sowing. Usually, most of them are controlled released fertilizers to reduce nutrient leakage and offer better results. Nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium doses of 50, 25, and 12 kg per acre, respectively and additionally Apply MgSO4 basally @ 20 kg/ha to prevent reddening. Spread 12.5 t of FYM or compost or composted coir pith or 2.5t of vermicompost per ha uniformly on the unploughed soil. Incorporate the manure in the soil by working the multipurpose implement.
Fertilizer of wheat is always depend upon various factors like, soil condition, variety, duration, irrigated or rainfed, soil microbial properties etc. Fertilizer is always applied as soil test basis. Always apply 10- 15 t/ha well decomposed FYM before final land preparation. General recommendation of N: P2O5: K2O @ 120-150: 60: 40-60 kg/ha for timely sown irrigated variety and 60-80: 40: 20 kg/ha for timely sown rainfed wheat. Half of N, full of P and K should be applied as basal, rest half N have to be applied at the time of 1st irrigation. In case of Zn deficient soil, ZnSO4 @ 25kg/ha also have to be applied as basal application.
