Right now, the world's agriculture is struggling with weeds. We grow plants that are not very competitive with weeds that can invade their environment. But couldn't we develop cultivated species that are competitive with the species in their environment?

For example, by growing plants on surfaces that are not weeded after sowing, by collecting seeds from the most competent plants and then sowing from one year to the next. Do you think this is possible?

This would make it possible to overcome the use of herbicides and to limit the use of mechanical weeding machines.
