Maybe someone has faced unusual threads stained with DAPI? The photo displays C2C12 cells fixed with 4% PFA for 15 minutes, permeabilized with 0.5% Triton X-100 in PBS for 30 minutes, and subsequently incubated with DAPI for 15 minutes. Following each step, the cells were washed three times with PBS for 5 minutes.

Victor, I don’t think that these are mycoplasma. With DAPI, MC usually appear as very small punctuate, bright speckles, often in large numbers, scattered over the entire field. If the nuclei in your cells are about 5 um in diameter, then MC would usually be
In which medium (mountants) did you mount your specimen and how long? Was your slide temporary or semipermanent. Because hardly will permanent slide grow mould since the medium (mountants) used for permanent mount does not support mould growth. If you are preparing temporary or semipermanent slide you have to add thymol crystal to prevent mould growth. The condition in which you kept your specimen before preparation also matter, that is probably your specimen has grown mould before preparation.
Akinwumi Johnson Akinloye, I appreciate your input. I was concerned that the anomalies I observed on the slide were related to contamination during cell culture. However, it's not due to contamination on the slide because it was prepared on the same day as the photo was taken.
