VeroE6 (African green monkey kidney cell line) is suitable to check the antiviral agent's neutralization activity. Our group also using the VeroE6 cell line to perform the patient's antibody microneutralization assay and I am particularly involved in immunocytochemistry experiments. You can make pseudo viruses that do not replicate after single cycle. Coronovirus inside and HIV gp120 out. Or HIV inside and spike outside. u can create a lot of combinations and safely test ur drug. these may also be restricted to just entry, release, and replication. Thanks Krishna. Yes, Im looking for an alternate "model" of SARS-CoV-2 that would not require a P3 facility to work on. The psuedo viruses are a good lead, but the articles I read on them are focused on studying infection, and we are interested in studying factors that affect replication. Can you suggest a specific psesudotype system for studying drug effects on replication, or is MHV (mouse hepatitus virus), which many have used as a model coronavirus, the best safe model? Hi David if you are focussing only on the inside events of the virus. I would suggest having the clone of the virus be modified to have no spike protein and clone a gfp instead. Use vsvg as envelope plasmid and 293t cells for packaging. Selection of permissive cells is important. Check for cells that are naturally infected by cov2. The gfp expression will ideally let you quantify replication of the virus inside the cell with respect to a drug of your choice. Additionally when you transfect these cells with vsvg and quantify the virus in media that would tell a lot of details on the release and assembly of the virus. Good luck

Hello Reza that's completely irrelevant to the question asked. Just for your information. Viruses die inside dead human because no more protein synthesis happen inside cells. And circulatory viruses die because of several proteases in the blood become more active due to lose of anti protease activity after death. Irrespective of where the protein is coming from bacteria feeds on any protein for nitrogen source.
