I am a last-year student on Applied Mathematics specialty. Transportation modeling and optimization problems are primary interest for my bachelor's thesis. I am looking for researches on this topic.
1. Transport of what?
2. Time-frame? You might focus on design [long-time focus], strategic decisions [a couple of years or so]
3. Dispatch scheduling, with optimal filling rates, routing, and so on.
4. Warehouse location and design.
5. What vehicles? Standard ones or electric? Depends on how long items are transported.
There is a lot that one can do, and you can devise a combined model, perhaps, or a mix of these.
But before you do that you probably have a lot to read, according to the above list - there are lots of stuff to understand and model.
