I am interested in to obtain the body core temperature of medium-sized birds, but I want to obtain the data in real time, not after to extract the data logger from the bird, for example using radio signal to my PC.
Hi Alvaro, you could used thermo-sensitive radio-telemetry transmitters (e.g. Holohil Ltd, Canada).

Thank you for the information, although in the madebytheo homepage say that he is busy (Theo I suppose), I will try with him too. Ideally we would like that the data logger did not have a long antenna, do you know if the Theo's transmitters are in this way?

Theo is indeed busy, but always 'in' for challenging projects. Just ask :-). The antenna is inside. We have used the implant transmitters in Garden dormouse and Common hamsters without problems (most of the time). Range of 200meter and life-span of 14 months.

You also have a look to Anipill System.
This system is made of implatable pills. The data can be read in real time and each pill has got its own memory so that you can follow the temperature kinetic withou any troubles.
The life duration of the pill (1 month to 1 year) depends on the sampling frequency (from 30s to 1h).
