In my modest explorations of temperature data, I have encountered cogent arguments that not all data sets are created equal. Not asking for anyone to relitigate all of that, but would greatly appreciate recommendations for the gold standard for accuracy for longitudinal temperature data (seems obvious, but ideally using the identical method for the longest period possible) for the northwest United States.

Not worried about the most "official" data, but the most accurate.

Any help appreciated!
