Hello guys, I performed an experiment using Mitotracker Deep Red FM from Invitrogen and analyzed it by flow cytometry. In this experiment I used two lineage of cells, being one of them knockout for a specific gene, and the other one my control. My question is, when I get higher fluorescence for one of them, what this does exactly mean? That the Mitochondria of this group are more active? If so, this is bad or good? I am not into mitochondria field, so I don't have much knowledge about it, and I am having a hard time finding a good explanation. If someone could help me, I would appreciate it a lot.

Thanks
