I need a free software to simulate athletic movements, for example parallel movements in gymnastics. I will be appreciate that someone help me about this matter.
Hi Ali, you could try the free software from OpenSim (http://opensim.stanford.edu/) . You can build your own model or use existing models to simulate movements.
The software has been developed by the university of Aalborg in Denmark and as far as I know there are options to use it as student for free or at very low fee.
As a podiatrist/biomedical engineer of the lower extremities, I am interested to know if the OpenSim software has applications in the structure and/or function of the foot and the muscle engines working it?
Hi Dennis. OpenSim has several models that include the foot (see: http://simtk-confluence.stanford.edu:8080/display/OpenSim/Musculoskeletal+Models). However, I'm not aware of a specific foot-ony model. This could be created using the free software.
