In my circle of friends there is a lively debate if corona is as dangerous as our media and governments is trying to portrait. Im one of those who doesn't believe Covid 19 is so much more dangerous to the general population than, lets say the flu. With that said I dont mean I would like to contract it, or any other illness. What is your take on the current situation? Is Covid 19 in your view something to be feared or do you like me view it as something that should not affect our lives and our economy to the extent it now has. Definitely not sacred. It is important to kill the virus and not the economy.

I think we should all be careful, and there are many aspects, one of them was actually touched upon by president Trump when he mentioned the possibility that the measures might actually do more harm than the thing you actually try to counter.. on the other hand, people are dying so it is an ethical question that is not easy to handle. In one way the Swedish approach is good because it minimises the harm to the economy but it might come with other risks. Im not in to medicine so these thoughts are just my own philosophical ones. One can have an idea to save every possible life or one can try to reduce the total effect of the pandemic including the economic consequences that might even lead to more deaths since poverty especially in under developed countries is a common cause of death. Even in the west this is an issue, but one not often talked about or one swept under the rug. Your thoughts?
Scope beyond scare would be the best middle path. Caution and not panic should guide the measures. Complete lock-down or free-for-all would both be harmful, whereas a careful, gradual release of lock-down, with increased public awareness on personal 'hygiene', face mask, social distancing, judicious avoiding of crowd in any public place should gradually restore normalcy. Maybe more public awareness / education / updates would help in dispelling myths and encourage a balanced mentality.
Certainly, fear, but not to the degree of panic, as long as the death rate is less than other common diseases and without treatment, and we do not know the causes, such as cancer and others, but let us seriously think about the quality of our research and our lives beyond the corona.

The danger of the virus is not fully proven. Therefore, different countries take different approaches in solving the "problem" that has arisen. Basically, approaches are based on tight control. Governments use the situation to strengthen their power and resolve “previously unresolved political issues.” The media reflect what is happening. At the same time, servile media work in their own interests and those of "customers".
We don´t actually know the situation, how the virus acts, and how to undertake the illness. Some things happening, but many questions to respond.
I don´t use to make decisions based on exccessive unknowns. Therefore, I would not decide now or ever if the virus is hype or real danger, I don´t know.
It is very important not to insist on the same already failed politics regarding virus. It is not of common people interest as it can be easily seen and understood.
Few things can be done nowadays to correct what has been done badly.
Moreover interest has decreased dramatically to the view of the situation on same people that have commited great failures.
That is why insistence is absurd on same politics. People have better things to do, honestly.
I am afraid of the corona because what happened and died are obvious all over the world (at the moment nearly 3 million Coronavirus cases and 203 300 deaths). Corona is a real danger, but; I am not in a panic, I follow certain rules for protection.

For me, it is a real danger, the virus is aggressive in some people, mainly it has to do with the immune system, in fact there are the asymptomatic people because their immune system responds better than in other people, it seems to be related to the production or not of T cells that can stop the reproduction of the virus.

In Brazil with more than 170 thousand deaths it is not possible to neglect. Especially in countries with great social and economic inequality, the problem becomes more serious. In which the majority of victims are found among blacks and the poor. It is difficult to convince families that have lost their loved ones that this is a "little flu", or as unfortunately the Brazilian president who denies science says that this is a "sissy" thing.
