Can anyone help me suggest some papers or books to understand more about conversion of crystalline carbon to amorphous carbon?
What are the different methods and reasons that can facilitate its conversion?
Im working of graphite and so i am interested on losing crystallinity of graphite to amorphous carbon.
Other than heat treated method ,any mechanical methods are possible?
You can always irradiate the material with an argon beam? How much do you want to convert?

Thanks for your reply . actually i’m working on mechanical exfoliation of graphite to graphene and I found Lots of amorphous carbon in my sample . I just wanted to find some papers on how mechanical loading or shear affects the crystallinity
You can check this work and how they do it with ion beam for inducing defects and Raman spectroscopy for the defect quantification.
