Does anybody have experience in control of agricultural facilities by using embedded system technologies, such as arduino, single board microcontroller, raspberypie, or linux box?
I have studied control system based on single board microcontroller, arduino and occasionally I face lack of memory during system running. Does anyone face such a kind of problem?
The information you have provided is inadequate to understand your problem. Sometimes I can write some C program for a micro-controller and after compiling, i download the code and the memory isnt enough. it could also be during run-time, the data you are trying to save is more than your memory size so you end up in some invalid memory location. debugging this depends on how sophisticated your hardware and software is. sometimes you have low-level debugging and memory initialization, partitioning... then again you can have system memory management...
Does the "lack of memory" occur right away when your application starts up, or after the system has been running for a while? In the first case, your program and its required data memory are too large to be allocated by the OS. The second case is usually caused by "memory leaks" due to improper management of dynamically allocated resources ("heap management"). I think that more powerful approaches exist for the implementation of embedded systems.

I belive, that using a serial eeprom for code execution will not work. It will work fine for for those king of data, that you don't need fast access. Otherwise, it will slow down you control loops. If you don't have fast control loops its okey.
If you are using Arduino and I suggest you need to store data in memory using the microSD shield.
But the problem is consumption.
