Why does SCOTUS harken back to tradition? Why does it seem as if the Justices have blinders on when it comes to the changing religious social/cultural atmosphere in America? We can have a secular nation where religion is not found in the government and yet the people are allowed to practice as they please. SCOTUS routinely aligns with "tradition". Tradition is different than stare decisis, so why do they hold fast to this? Why has this not changed yet?
