In aspen plus for the reactive distillation column, i realised there is no option for LHHW rate expression. I solved the expression in Visual baisc application and want to export it to aspen plus so as to use the equation in aspen plus. If anyone of us can help me to do so?

This is fairly simple to do. ASPEN PLUS allows subroutines to be written in MS EXCEL, where visual basic is the preferred macro language and has other calculation options.
You find the subprogram declaration near the bottom of the set up menu of ASPEN PLUS where you choose between FORTRAN and EXCEL. It takes a bit of practice to learn how to declare and link variable for input and output of the Excel subroutine. Also it takes a bit of practice to construct a VBA routine in EXCEL. It is a forgiving system with interpreted commands and gives reasonable diagnostics with valuable experience.
Also notice you could express your VBA routine in FORTRAN with little effort and avoid EXCEL. Advantage is FORTRAN interpreter comes built in with ASPEN PLUS License, and EXCEL is licensed separately. Also when you upgrade to new versions the FORTRAN code translates, but the EXCEL code must be modified by the user. EXCEL has a large advantage if a lot of data is entered by the user and is changed often.
I do both types of subroutines which add a lot of value to ASPEN simulations. In either case you can use the subroutines to modify calculated results for any standard column parameter or stage. Or you can put your subroutine calls and calculations inside a user defined module, which may also contain standard blocks for equilibrium, mass transfer, and heat balance.

I´m trying to simulate a RD as well, founding that for this kind of device the reaction is declared as REAC-DIST option in aspen plus, however, for dynamic simulation, it is necessary to link an external subroutine written in fortran language as a kinetic model. In my case I´m trying to install visual studio community 2017 with intel parallel studio 2017 in a aspen suite v. 8.8. Unfortunately, it had been not enough for linking these softwares with aspen because aspen did not recognize those compilers.
Meanwhile, the same kinetic model was developed in Matlab, but in this case how can I link it through excel?, because in variable explorer I did not identify how can be possible to link the matlab model in aspen, at lest through this alternative.
I appreciate some advice for this troubleshooting
Hello, I'm facing the same problem. Trying to run a simulation that has a Fortran code, but I don't know how to link it with Aspen Plus. I already intalled visual studio community 2017 and intell parallel studio xe 2018, but I still don't get what needs to be done. By following the user manual, I found a list of compilers and made a selection, but it still doesn't run. Anyone can help me with this?
Hi everyone, I have also encountered the same problem, currently I am simulating simulating a dryer type tunnel, and the drying model I have done in Visual B in excel, but I will add some component and the cycle I have done in aspen plus but a part of it is compiled with the model that I have done in excel, so if I could help with your experience of loading my model
