The occurrence of citations depends on where the edition is indexed where you are cited. If you be cited in an journal indexed in the Google scholar, your citation will not be visible in the Scopus.

Web of Science & SCOPUS does not include all articles published, but its selection of journals is highly respected and thus useful for citation analysis.

But I can find the same article with different citations. It is not the matter of highly reputed journals. Journals are same but why with different citations. Why is so much variation in citations. And why citations is always higher in Google scholar citation.

Citation information is available in certain online databases such as Google Scholar, WoS, and Scopus. Remember that ‘cited references’ in WoS may not include all the known citations of the paper, but only those appeared in journals covered by WoS, that is through 'Journal Citation Reports'. So is the case with Scopus. As sources included in GoogleScholar is higher than WoS or Scopus, it carries higher citations counts.

I am Agree with Prof. Thomas Response. I also have notice sometime, Its the matter of research Journals covered by Web of Citation and Scopus. But one think which bother me is why so huge difference is there? Is the WoS and Scopus are not well managing the citation data? Secondly i also have notice that time of display of citation to the profile is sometime more then 6 months with the same article which display the citation withing a week of online published article in google scholar citation profile.

Even i can see the citation provided in the research gate is also not identical to any of the above. Why??

I agree to certain extent with Bhaskar Bhatt, that is also one of the reason for increase in the citation more in Google scholar citation. But i think who is really involve in active research they always try to update there profile time to time. So mostly we do not encounter the problem of displaying the citation of other author with same name in once profile. But that is very true, that this is also one of the reason.

But i don't able to understand what is the definition of highly respected Journals? What are the parameter which will decide, which one is highly respected Journal. Is it the impact factor? because i can see many research articles cited in those journal, who have impact factor but even though they are not in the WoS or scopus citation list.
