I have dataframe with the name newDF_DMSP1 which contains three variables/columns, namely cluster, pixel_value and pop_value. I want to create two new data frames i.e df_rural which consist of pop_value where the coresponding pixel_value is zero and df_urban which consist of pop_value with the coresponding pixel value other than zero. Anyone who can help me how to code it in Rstudio. Looking forward to your usual cooperation in this regard. Thanks
It seems you want to split the dataframe into two subsets, one which contains all rows where pixel_value == 0 and the other where pixel_value != 0:
split(newDF_DMSP1, f = newDF_DMSP1$pixel_value == 0)
will do the job. The result is a list of two dataframes.
Good afternoon, if I well-understand your question your aim is to create a new variable by selecting some level of your variable. I think you can use a code like this:
newDF_DMSP1 %>% filter(newDF_DMSP1$pixel_value == 0)%>%
mutate (df_rural=DF_DMSP1$pixel_value)
newDF_DMSP1 %>% filter(newDF_DMSP1$pixel_value == 0)%>%
mutate (df_urban=DF_DMSP1$pixel_value !=0)
