If we sample water from a pond (Aquarium for Pond sliders) how can we be sure that ocular or digestive form of infection is present in time if we cannot clearly see clinical signs of disease?
Are sliders normally can harbor Aeromonas hydrofila bacterium? What is benefit of culturing their feces when we do not know does they have or not have active disease manifestation? For ocular form is not difficult but how to recognize diarrhoea in water?
This q is important concerning ONE health issue and zoonotic potential of bacterium that live in same close contact with humans.

Generally you can use flumequine (Imequil, Flumesyva, i.e.) in the feed if the fish are searching for food , but is better to do antibiogram first. However, it is essential to have good welfare condition concerning water quality (with low concentration of nitrites and good aeration of water). Aaeromonas is a conditioned pathogenic bacteria and you have to avoid multiplication in excess, it is not possible to remove bacteria from the water because is almost everywhere).

aeromonas hydrophila ia ubiquitous bacteria of fresh water and microbial component of fish.It is found in all waters and more numerous in water with organic matter.The most outbreaks caused by aeromonads are associated with changes of enviromental parametrs or husbundary manipulations.
water quality is the first, then you can use flumequine for treatment, 3 days, pause and 3 days.
