Hello everyone,
as discussed in https://www.comsol.com//forum/thread/32484/use-space-coordinates-as-arguments-check-bock-interpolation-functions it is possible to use space coordinates as agruments. I have used the same approach as shown in the first picture. The defined function (called n) is then used to define the refractive index of some part of the model geometry. This is shown in the second picture. Upon hitting the Build All-Button to generate the mesh I get the error message shown in the third picture. I have also attached the used .txt file.
Now the questions are the following:
(1) Is the used process to define a space dependent material property right?
(2) Which coordinate is choosen by COMSOL to be the argument for the interpolation function? In the plot COMSOL displays x. From that, can I conclude that COMSOL is using the coordinates along the x-axis as argument?
(3) If (1) is right: Why does COMSOL display the error message shown in the last picture?
I appreciate all answers and thank everybody for taken his or her time.
Best regards,
Giuseppe
