I am looking for a liquid compounds that can be applied as a coating on the metal surface to impart shine; like the one achieved after nickel/chromium plating. Any idea, what kind of compounds can help? Compound should be in liquid stage. Thanks for your help.
There are relatively light fusible nickel base alloys, which are melted on the steel surface. The simplest method - flame spraying of so-called self-flowing alloys NiCrBSi with subsequent melting at 1050-1070°C. The remelting takes place either in a vacuum oven (protective gas oven) or by means of acetylene oxygen burner.
The layers are quite good and shine with the color between nickel and chromium (not as yellowish as nickel but not as blue as chromium). In contrast to the galvanic nickel, the layers of NiCrBSi do not lose their shine with time.
