I want a vital stain for embryos that does not require fluorescence. Old-school chromogenic stain, so poor folks/teaching labs can use it too. The catch is that it must not stain YOLK. I want to visualize nuclei and/or cell boundaries in embryos, which typically have a lot of yolk. The embryos need this yolk, but we don't care to see it colored. I've looked around quite a bit, but have not looked everywhere. Does anybody out there have the secret?
