Dear Dr Adita Maharaj , It depends. In certain places the authorities have already re-opened. Some other places the government is keeping a close watch on the evolving situation (As in Tamil Nadu, Southern state of India) to decide. I think it is not possible in my place at this moment - may take three-four months. Warm regards Yoganandan G
This is a very important topic for a discussion, at least right now it seems to be so.
In India, schools are closed since March, 2020. I don't think that the government has any intentions of opening it before March/ April, 2021. Just one/ two days back, we were informed about the emergence of a new variant of Corona. The government is keeping a close eye on that matter.
To sum up, I don't think that offline classes will start in 2021 and that is my opinion in the Indian context.
I don’t think so,because of emergence of a new strain of corona,we were informed that this strain infects children more than adults unlike previous one which infected them but to a lesser degree.

The likelihood of your child encountering such problems is small. ... Fortunately, most children find that school is a time of exciting and happy challenges that they can cope with
Online learning will be fine, but face to face might be unwise. Several countries are expriencing a rise in infections. Alot of parents might be reluctant to get back to face to face classes in countries with rising cases.
