The plant already well known for its different uses in some Arabic country, Egypt , Syria and Lebanon, but the production is limited to some area, the growing importance of the plant led to the need to wide cultivation. we could find the seed mainly in Australia and South America, For production sites located in different ecosystems in Bolivia, Argentina, and Ecuador, growing cycles are between 100–150 days in duration. The future need to the plant depend not only the health benefits but also to the media and the economic benefits.

Chia is gaining lot of importance in India. The semi-arid tropics are best suited for cultivation which needs less water. This wonder millet is known to lower the risk of diabetes (Type II) and heart disease. Lot of farmers in India are cultivating Chia for its huge demands in national and international markets. And if its organic then one can expect higher profits. Other millets like Quinoa, Finger Millet, Fox Tail Millet, etc are also to look for. And for a healthy lifestyle in a fast moving world it is about forgotten millets nowadays.
